Urban River Society

The Urban River Society promotes education, identity, and new perspectives of belonging in the outdoors for BIPOC youth and community through the art of fly fishing (BIPOC represents Black, Indigenous, People of Color)

Our program is focused on bringing BIPOC school aged kids, family, and community together to learn about fly fishing with a shared experience in the outdoors where often times our communities of color may not feel welcome or may not understand how to claim our own space in the wilderness.

Whether catching a fish on a fly, or enjoying the journey in trying to do so, this is an opportunity to come together and share a passion for community, conservation, identity, the great outdoors, and the value of education for our youth.
